In 1976 Gunnar Jones heard the term “Shotgun” for the first time and a passion was born.
Over the next few years Gunnar became obsessed with shotgunning. He specifically became obsessed with the hole that was created in the can in order to shotgun. Watching those around him use car keys, pens, pencils, knives, screwdrivers, scissors, teeth, thumbs, sticks and just about anything else available that might possibly puncture a hole in a beer can made him think..., “There has to be a better way!”
As Gunnar’s passion became noticed by college friends he was often called upon to puncture the cold ones in preparation for consumption. His reputation grew quickly and was soon to be known as “the hole god”..., life was good for young Gunnar.
After graduation from college Gunnar set out to build a life for himself… but the passion of the perfect hole never left. With a background in graphics and metal working, Gunnar continued to build prototypes but was never completely satisfied with his results. Then he discovered a proprietary method of encapsulating a space age metal in graphics. After several prototypes, additional research & development and "product testing" his dream of the perfect shotgun opener became a reality. Behold…, The SHOTGUN KEY!
